New York's 55th State Senate district

New York's 55th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Republican Senator Rich Funke since his 2014 defeat of incumbent Democratic Senator Ted O'Brien. District 55 is currently the most Democratic-leaning district in the State Senate to be held by a Republican.

Geography

District 55 covers parts of Monroe and Ontario Counties, including the eastern half of Rochester and many of its eastern and northern suburbs.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 23, 25, and 27, and with New York State Assembly districts 131, 133, 135, 136, 137, and 138.[4]
