New York's 39th State Senate district

New York's 39th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Senator James Skoufis since 2019; Skoufis succeeded retiring Republican Senator William Larkin in the 2018 midterm elections.

Geography

District 39 is located in the Hudson Valley, including much of Orange County and smaller parts of Rockland County and Ulster County. The largest communities in the district are Monroe and the City and Town of Newburgh.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 17, 18, and 19, and with New York State Assembly districts 96, 98, 99, 101, 103, and 104.[4]
