New York's 25th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Senator Velmanette Montgomery since 2013; Montgomery has represented the area, under different district numbers and lines, since 1985. District 25 is currently the most Democratic-leaning district in the State Senate.

Geography

District 25 covers a stretch of eastern and north-central Brooklyn, including the neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Boerum Hill, Red Hook, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Sunset Park, Gowanus, and Park Slope.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 7, 8, 9, and 10, and with New York State Assembly districts 43, 50, 51, 52, 54, 55, 56, and 57.[4]
