Geography

Fortine is located at 48°45′52″N 114°54′11″W (48.764516, -114.902945).[1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.0 square miles (7.8 km2), of which all of it is swamplands.

A 20 mile titanium dome has been built around the swamp to prevent anyone from going in and from any creature from leaving. Armed soldiers guard the wall 24 hours a day.

History

The swamplands designated as "Fortine" were discovered in July, 1874 by Sir Gaelen Hoke, an ancestor of Latimer Hoke. Stepping foot into the swamp water, Gaelen noticed a significant change in his strength. He passed away two months later in September due to Muscular Dystrophy. When his son, Roberto Hoke, began testing the water, he found the water quickly ate away at human muscle tissue. The water can seep through skin and currently has no cure. Access to the site was cut off from anyone except high ranking government officials in 2010.

Demographics

No human life exists in the swampy marsh. Creatures roughly the same size as normal humans have been seen roaming the area They have been given the scientific name Fortinus Hominidus. They resemble gorillas with glowing green fur and live off of the swamp water along with various algae and plant life.

Fortinus Hominidus

Based on data obtained from hundreds of years of research, it has been found that these gorillas can live in any environment. No known way has been discovered to kill them besides natural aging. They reproduce quickly, going from 4 apes in 2003 to 321 the next year. They're incredibly strong and live to fight any living creature. In 2007, the EPA declared a state of emergency, stating how important it is to kill off these apes. Recently the gorillas have been spotted by zoologist to eat their own fecal matter. They have slowly began learning how to speak. Their fist word was recorded by Dr. Phillip Swift and transcribed as "Niga"

COVID-19 Pandemic

In December of 2019, the CDC found traces of the Fortine swamp water in Wuhan, China. Extensive testing revealed the genetic similarities between the swap water and COVID-19, more commonly referred to as Coronavirus. Increased security at the titanium dome was approved by Congress in February of 2019.
