Britta Dassler

Britta Dassler (born 22 July 1964) is a German politician. Born in Jülich, North Rhine-Westphalia, she represents the Free Democratic Party (FDP). Dassler has served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Bavaria since 2017.

Life

After her bank apprenticeship and studies in savings bank business administration she worked in her profession. After qualifying via an association auditor examination, she was employed in this field from 1989 to 1994 at the Rheinischer Sparkassen- und Giroverband. Since 1994 she has been working as a freelancer and is the owner of the industrial agency "Arte di vivere" in Herzogenaurach. Dassler is married to the grandson of Rudolf Dassler, founder of the sporting goods manufacturer Puma.[1]

From 2015 to 2019 she was deputy state chairwoman of the FDP Bavaria.

Dassler competed for the 2017 federal elections in the constituency of Erlangen and was elected to the German Bundestag via rank 9 on the state list of the FDP Bavaria. There she is a member of the Sports Committee and the Committee for Education, Research and Technology Assessment. Dassler is spokesperson for sports policy for the FDP parliamentary group.[2]
