Bara, Dildarnagar
Bara is the second largest village in Ghazipur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated the on the bank of the holy river Ganga.

The majority of the residents are Muslim (Pathan). The village has a Union Bank of India, Kashi Gomti Gramin Bank, sub-post office, petrol pump and a reporting police Chowki. The village has a cricket team named Bara Cricket Club and a football team named Bara Football Club. The latter has produced state and national football players like Nasim Khan known as Chaiawa, Haider Khan, and Hadi Khan. There are three playgrounds in the village.
There is an English medium school named IQRA model school (managed by Muslim welfare and trust) and a college named Bara Inter College.
History
In the Mughal period, it fell on the route to Kolkata and major business locations, and there was constant movement of business and trading practices. The village has a railway station known as Barakalan station.
The village bypasses State Highway 99. The Ganga and Karamnasa river confluence divides Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Bara witnessed the Battle of Chausa, a military engagement between the Mughal emperor Humayun, and the Afghan Sher Shah Suri, fought on 26 June 1539, 2 km away.
