The Kominsky Method is an upcoming American comedy web television series created by Chuck Lorre that is set to premiere on November 16, 2018 on Netflix.

Premise

The Kominsky Method follows "Sandy Kominsky, an actor who years ago had a brief fling with success and is now a revered Hollywood acting coach."[1]

Development

On August 14, 2017, Netflix announced that they were finalizing a deal for a 10-episode first season series order for The Kominsky Method. The show is a single-camera comedy written by Chuck Lorre. Warner Brothers Television is producing with studio-based Chuck Lorre Productions. Lorre is executive producing the series with Douglas, who boarded the project in spring 2017 while it was still in development.[2] On July 29, 2018, it was announced during the Television Critics Association's annual summer press tour that the series was to premiere on November 16, 2018.[3]

Casting

Alongside the series order announcement, it was reported that Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin had been cast in the series lead roles as Sandy Kominsky and Norman, respectively.[2] On January 11, 2018, it was announced that Nancy Travis had joined the main cast in the role of Lisa.[4] A week later, Netflix announced the final castings for the series. Sarah Baker is rounding out the main cast in the role of Mindy. In addition, Susan Sullivan, Emily Osment, Graham Rogers, Ashleigh LaThrop, Jenna Lyng Adams, Melissa Tang, Casey Brown, and Lisa Edelstein have been set for recurring roles.[5][6]
