The I-Land is an upcoming American science fiction web television series set to premiere on Netflix.

Premise

The I-Land begins when "ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home. They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the island’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves — or die as their worst ones."[1]

On September 28, 2018, it was announced that Netflix had given the production a series order for a first season consisting of seven episodes. Neil LaBute was set to serve as showrunner for the series in addition to writing and directing with Jonathan Scarfe also directing and Lucy Teitler also writing. Executive producers were expected to include LaBute, Chad Oakes, and Mike Frislev with Lucy Teitler and Jonathan Scarfe serving as co-executive producers and Kate Bosworth acting as a producer. Production companies involved with the series were slated to consist of Nomadic Pictures Entertainment.[1]

Casting

Alongside the series order announcement, it was confirmed that Kate Bosworth, Natalie Martinez, and Alex Pettyfer would star in the series.[1] On October 4, 2018, it was announced that Kyle Schmid had been cast in a starring role.[2]
