Tamaryn Green (born 19 August 1994) is a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2018. She will represent South Africa in the Miss Universe 2018 competition.

Life and career

Early life

Green was born on 19 August 1994 in Worcester, Western Cape to parents David and Ellirene Green[1]. Born in Worcester, the family moved to Paarl when Green was nine years old.[2] She is of Cape Coloured origin.[3] Her father works as a curriculum adviser while her mother is a teacher.[4] Green attended New Orleans Secondary School in Paarl.[4] She is a medical student at the University of Cape Town.[5][6]

Pageantry

Miss South Africa 2018

Green was initially announced as one of the 28 regional qualifiers for Miss South Africa 2018 in April 2018.[7] She later was able to advance to the televised competition as one of the top twelve competitors.[8][9] During the final competition, Green advanced into the top five and then into the top two, where she was crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2018, becoming the South African representative in Miss Universe 2018. Afterwards, she was crowned Miss South Africa 2018 with Miss World South Africa being Thulisa Keyi. She was crowned by her predecessor Adè van Heerden.[10][11][12][13][14]
