Songadh is a town in Bhavnagar District of Saurashtra in Gujarat, India. It is 8km from Sihor town and 28km from Bhavnagar town.
Importance
Kanji Swami, a mystical teacher of Jainism, spent about forty years at Songadh so the village has become major pilgrim place of his Digambara Jain followers. In 2010, a 41.5 feet idol of Lord Bahubali was also installed here.[1][2].
Overview
Its main temple complex contains the following temples:
- Param Agam Mandir, literally meaning Temple of Sacred Texts. Walls of this temple are carved with the Digambar Jain sacred texts of Samayasāra.
- Jin Mandir.
- Swadyay Mandir, literally meaning Temple of Study.
- Nandishwar Deep Mandir.
