SES-12 is a geostationary communications satellite operated by SES and designed and manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space. It has a mass of 5.4 t (6.0 tons) and has a design life of at least 15 years.[2]
Together with SES-8, it is expected to reach 18 million homes.[3]
SES-12 was successfully launched on a SpaceX Block 4 (B1040) Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center Launchpad 40 on 4 June 2018 at 12:45 a.m. EDT (04:45 UTC),[1] and was successfully released into orbit approximately 33 minutes later.
