São José (Portuguese for Saint Joseph) is a village in the western part of São Tomé Island in São Tomé and Príncipe. Its population is 82 (2008 est.).[1]
The settlement it located upstream on a stream that flows from the area of Pico de São Tomé and empties near Lembá. Nearby places are São Miguel to the southwest, Binda, the nation's westernmost settlement, and Lembá to the northwest. About a kilometer east and south of the settlement is Obo Natural Park.
The surrounding area and landscape are entirely forested. Agriculture is the main industry of the village, several plantations dominate the area.
