Prema Simhasanam (English: Throne of love) is a 1981 Telugu, Action drama film, produced by K. Vidya Sagar under the Tirupathi International banner[2] and directed by Beeram Mastan Rao.[3] The film stars N. T. Rama Rao and Rati Agnihotri in the lead roles[4] and the music is composed by Chakravarthy.[5]
Plot
Anand Varma (N. T. Rama Rao) is a Zamindar. Once, he watches people auctioning a woman called Rajeswari (Manju Bhargavi), who is the daughter of a prostitute, Gajjala Kanakaratnam (Pushpa Kumari). Though she is born in that family, Rajeswari has good character and virtue. So, to protect her honor, Anand Varma marries her, which is not liked by his mother Anasuya Devi (S. Varalakshmi). So, she will not allow them into the house after listening to Manager Kamaraju (Nutan Prasad). Anand Varma leaves the house along with Rajeswari, accommodate themselves in the village and start living happily. After some time, Rajeswari becomes pregnant, then she observes a woman attempting suicide. Rajeswari protects her and asks why she would do such an act. Then she says that her name is Lakshmi (K. R. Vijaya), daughter of Anand Varma's maternal uncle, who is loving Anand Varma from childhood, but knowing that he had married some other woman, she has to do so. Rajeswari gives her an assurance that her wishes will be fulfilled. Rajeshwari takes a promise from Anand Varma, makes his marriage with Lakshmi and dies giving birth to a baby boy. Lakshmi takes care of the baby as her own and consoles depressed Anand Varma. Time passes, Lakshmi also becomes pregnant and she also gives birth to baby boy. Kamaraju takes advantage of the situation, provokes Anusuya Devi and she orders them to get rid of the illicit child. Kamaraju sends his henchmen to eliminate the child, but Anand Varma obstructs their way and he dies while protecting the child. But the child is rescued by his loyal servant Simhachalam (Hema Sundar) and he rears him.
Years roll by, Raja (again N. T. Rama Rao) son of Rajeswari becomes a pop singer and he falls in love with a beautiful girl Prema (Rati Agnihotri). On the other side, Lakshmi's son Kalyan (Mohan Babu) turns into a vagabond due to misguidance by Kamaraju and his son Ramanandam (Satyanarayana). To stop the misdeeds of Kalyan, Lakshmi removes all his powers on the property. So, Kamaraju and Ramanandham plan to get rid of Lakshmi. She is attacked by their goons and Raja comes to her rescue when she recognizes him by his features. After that, Simhachalam reveals the entire story to Raja. Raja wholeheartedly accepts Lakshmi as his mother and decides to keep up their family prestige. Finally, Raja reforms his brother Kalyan, sees the end of the baddies and marries Prema.
