Michigan Park is a neighborhood in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington, D.C. in the Upper Northeast area element.[1] North Michigan Park is contained between South Dakota Avenue to the west, Eastern Avenue to the east, Galloway Street NE to the north and Taylor Street NE to the South. The Michigan Park neighborhood is often confused with the North Michigan Park neighborhood and North Michigan Park Civic Association which has boundaries that include both Michigan Park and North Michigan Park. Additionally, Michigan Park completely contains the Queens Chapel Civic Association that is separate from the Queens Chapel neighborhood which borders Michigan Park to the north. The Queens Chapel association meets regularly at Union Wesley African Methodist Zion Church and its's boundaries are between 16th Street NE and Webster Street NE to the north, Michigan Avenue NE to the south, and South Dakota Avenue NE to the west.

The adjacent neighborhood of North Michigan Park borders the Michigan Park neighborhood west of South Dakota Avenue NE. In addition to North Michigan Park, Michigan Park also borders the neighborhoods of Queens Chapel (North), Woodridge (South), the city of Mount Rainier, Maryland (East), and Avondale in Prince Georges County, Maryland (East).

Michigan Park is home to the St. Anslem's Abby School, St. Anslem's Abby Monastery, St. Anslem's Abby Soccer Field, Deeper Life Bible Church, Little Jodie's Playhouse, National Children's Center, Boys Town Washington D.C. Youth Service Organization, BP Gasoline Station, Avondale Shopping Center, Whitefriars Hall, and Union Wesley African Methodist Zion Church. In terms of recreation, the Michigan Park neighborhood features the North Michigan Park Recreation Center, in addition to access to the Fort Circle Parks located on its far north and east side. Being a sister neighborhood of North Michigan Park, residents of Michigan Park live within very close proximity to Providence Hospital, the Catholic University of America, the Washington D.C. MedStar Hospital Center, the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Hospital, and Children's National Main Hospital. In terms of public transportation, residents of Michigan Park do not have direct access to a Metrorail station but live within a mile or less to the Fort Totten and Brookland-CUA Metro Stations. Residents of Michigan Park also have access to a Metrobus Routes as well.
