Mercallo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) northwest of Milan and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southwest of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,761 and an area of 5.3 square kilometres (2.0 sq mi).[1]
