Below are select minor league players of the San Diego Padres organization and the rosters of their minor league affiliates:

Austin Allen

Austin Michael Allen (born January 16, 1994) is an American professional baseball catcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Allen attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis, Missouri and played college baseball at the Florida Institute of Technology.^[1][2] He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the fourth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.^[3][4]

After signing, Allen made his professional debut with the Tri-City Dust Devils^[5] that same year and spent the whole season there, batting .240 with two home runs and 34 RBIs in 53 games. He spent 2016 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps where he slashed .320/.364/.425 with seven home runs, 61 RBIs, and a .791 OPS, and also played in three games with the San Antonio Missions at the end of the season. He played 2017 with the Lake Elsinore Storm where he batted .283 with 22 home runs, 81 RBIs, and 31 doubles in 121 games,^[6] and he started 2018 with San Antonio.^[7]

Logan Allen

Logan Shane Allen (born May 23, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Allen was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.^[8][9] He signed with the Red Sox and spent the majority of his first professional season with the Gulf Coast Red Sox, pitching to a 0.90 ERA in twenty innings, along with pitching one game for the Lowell Spinners in which he gave up one earned run in 4.1 innings.

On November 13, 2015, Allen along with Manuel Margot, Javier Guerra and Carlos Asuaje were traded to the San Diego Padres for Craig Kimbrel.^[10][11] The Padres assigned him to the Fort Wayne TinCaps,^[12] where he spent the whole season, posting a 3-4 record and 3.33 ERA in only 15 games (11 starts) due to spending time on the disabled list with an elbow injury. He spent 2017 with both Fort Wayne and the Lake Elsinore Storm, pitching to a combined 7-9 record and 2.95 ERA with 142 strikeouts in 125 total innings pitched (24 games, with 23 being starts) between both teams.^[13]

Michel Báez

Michel Báez Cruz (born January 21, 1996) is a Cuban professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Báez played for the Vegueros de Pinar del Río and the Huracanes de Mayabeque of the Cuban National Series in 2014/2015. He signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent in December 2016 for $3 million.^[14][15]

Báez made his professional debut in 2017 with the Arizona League Padres, and after one start where he gave up two runs and struck out seven in five innings, was promoted to the Fort Wayne TinCaps where he finished the season, starting ten games, compiling a 6-2 record and 2.45 ERA with 82 strikeouts in 58.2 innings pitched.^[16][17][18]

Following the 2017 season, Baez was rated as the Midwest League's No. 4 prospect according to Baseball America. He also earned Honorable Mention, Starting Pitcher honors on the 2017 Yahoo Sports All-Minor League Team. Baez is ranked as the Padres' No. 7 prospect according to MLB.com.^[19]

Cole Bellinger

Cole Bellinger (born October 12, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Bellinger attended Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona. As a senior, he posted a 2.06 ERA in nine starts and was the winning pitcher in the state championship game.^[21] He also was the winning pitcher in their state championship game in 2016, when he was a junior.^[22] Bellinger committed to play college baseball at Grand Canyon University. However, the San Diego Padres drafted him in the 15th round of the 2017 MLB Draft, and he chose to sign with the Padres for $350,000^[23] rather than attend college.^[24] After signing, Bellinger was assinged to the AZL Padres, where he spent all of 2017, posting a 0.68 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 13.1 innings pitched.^[25]

Bellinger's father, Clay, played in Major League Baseball from 1999-2002 for the New York Yankees and Anaheim Angels, and his brother, Cody, currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers.^[26]

Luis Campusano

Luis Genaro Campusano (born September 29, 1998) is an American professional baseball catcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Campusano graduated from Cross Creek High School in Augusta, Georgia. He was primarily a first baseman, and did not begin catching until his junior year.^[27] As a junior, he batted .493 with six home runs and 33 RBIs.^[28] As a senior, he batted .622 with six home runs.^[29] He had committed to play college baseball for the Missouri Tigers, but he decommitted and then committed to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks during his senior year.^[30] The San Diego Padres drafted Campusano in the second round (39th overall) of the 2017 MLB draft,^[31] and he signed for $1.3 million,^[32] forgoing his commitment to South Carolina.

After signing, Campusano made his professional debut with the AZL Padres. He spent the whole season there, batting .269 with four home runs and 25 RBIs in 37 games.^[33] He began 2018 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps.

Xavier Edwards

Xavier Edwards (born August 9, 1999) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the San Diego Padres organization.

Edwards graduated from North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida. As a senior, he batted .406 with 16 runs batted in, 24 stolen bases, and a .532 on-base percentage for the school's baseball team.^[34] He committed to play college baseball at Vanderbilt University.^[35]

The San Diego Padres selected Edwards with the 38th overall selection in the 2018 MLB draft^[36][37] and signed for $2.6 million.^[38] He made his professional debut with the AZL Padres and was promoted to the Tri-City Dust Devils in August. In 45 total games between the two teams, Edwards slashed .346/.453/.409 with 16 RBIs and 22 stolen bases.^[39]

Michael Gettys

Michael Edward Gettys (born October 22, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the San Diego Padres organization.

Gettys attended Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia. He was the Gainesville Times Player of the Year in 2012 and 2014.^[40][41] He committed to play college baseball for the Georgia Bulldogs.^[42] Gettys was at one point considered a potential first round pick in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.^[43] He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the second round of the draft.^[44] He made his professional debut with the Arizona League Padres and spent the whole season there, slashing .310/.353/.437 with three home runs and 38 RBIs in 52 games. He spent 2015 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps and batted .231 with six home runs and 44 RBIs in 122 games. In 2016, he played for both Fort Wayne and the Lake Elsinore Storm, posting a combined .305 batting average with 12 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 33 stolen bases in 128 total games between both clubs. Gettys returned to Lake Elsinore in 2017 where he batted .254 with 17 home runs and 51 RBIs in 116 games, and led all minor leaguers with 500 or more plate appearances with a strikeout percentage of 37.2%.^[45][46]

Adrian Morejón

Adrian Morejón Garcia (born February 27, 1999) is a Cuban professional baseball pitcher.

Morejón played in the 2014 15U Baseball World Cup, and was named the tournament's most valuable player. He appeared in the Cuban National Series for Mayabeque that year. He defected from Cuba in October 2015.^[48] He agreed to a contract with the San Diego Padres for $11 million in July 2016.^[49] He made his professional debut in 2017, spending time with both the Tri-City Dust Devils and the Fort Wayne TinCaps, posting a combined 3-4 record with a 3.86 ERA in 63 innings pitched between both clubs.^[50]

Andrés Muñoz

Andrés Clemente Muñoz (born January 16, 1999) is a Mexican professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Muñoz signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent in July 2015. He made his professional debut in 2016 with the Arizona League Padres.^[51] In 2017, he played for the Tri-City Dust Devils and Fort Wayne TinCaps. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League, where he was the youngest player.^[52]

Muñoz started 2018 with Tri-City and was promoted to the San Antonio Missions during the season.^[53]

Jorge Oña

Jorge Luis Oña Ugarte (born December 31, 1996) is a Cuban professional baseball outfielder in the San Diego Padres organization.

At the COPABE 18U Pan American Championships 2014, Oña hit .636 with four home runs.^[54] In July 2015 he defected from Cuba to pursue a Major League Baseball career in the United States.^[55]

Oña signed with the San Diego Padres on July 21, 2016.^[56] He began his professional career in 2017 with the Fort Wayne Tin Caps of the Class A Midwest League^[57] and spent the whole season there, posting a .277 batting average with 11 home runs and 64 RBIs.^[58]

Chris Paddack

Christopher Joseph Paddack (born January 8, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Paddack attended Cedar Park High School in Cedar Park, Texas.^[59] He committed to play college baseball for the Texas A&M Aggies.^[60] He was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the eighth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft and signed.^[61] He made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Marlins where he went 4-3 with a 2.18 ERA in 11 games (seven starts). He started 2016 with the Greensboro Grasshoppers.^[62]

On June 30, 2016 Paddack was traded to the San Diego Padres for Fernando Rodney.^[63] He was then assigned to the Fort Wayne TinCaps. On July 30, 2016 Paddack was diagnosed with a torn UCL. He underwent Tommy John surgery on August 15 and missed the rest of the 2016 season.^[64] In 42.1 total innings pitched between Greensboro and Fort Wayne, he posted a 2-0 record and 0.85 ERA along with 71 strikeouts.^[65] The surgery forced Paddack to also miss all of 2017.

Paddack returned to the mound in 2018. The Padres assigned him to the High-A Lake Elsinore Storm. For the Storm, he displayed the same form that had compelled Padres General Manager A. J. Preller to target him in the Rodney trade, pitching to a 2.24 ERA with 83 strikeouts against only 4 walks in 52 and 1/3 third innings pitched before being promoted to the AA San Antonio Missions. Paddack was even better for the Missions, pitching to a 1.91 ERA with 37 strikeouts against only 4 walks in 37 and 2/3 innings.

Luis Patiño

Luis Fernando Patiño (born October 26, 1999) is a Colombian professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization.

Patiño signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent on July 2, 2016.^[66] He spent his first professional season in 2017 with the Dominican Summer League Padres and Arizona League Padres.

Patiño played 2018 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps.^[67][68]

Buddy Reed

Michael Elliott Reed (born April 27, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the San Diego Padres.

Reed attended St. George's School in Middletown, Rhode Island. He played baseball, hockey and soccer. Reed was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 13th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign and attended the University of Florida where he played college baseball for the Florida Gators.^[69]

As a freshman at Florida in 2014, Reed started 51 of 60 games, hitting .244 over 172 at-bats.^[70] After a 1-14 start his sophomore year in 2015, he started wearing glasses on the field.^[71] That year he started 69 of 70 games and hit .305/.367/.433 with four home runs, 47 runs batted in (RBI) and 18 stolen bases. After the season, he played for the United States collegiate national team during the summer.^[72] In 2015, he batted .305 with four home runs and 47 RBIs. As a junior in 2016, he batted .262 with four home runs, 32 RBIs and 24 stolen bases. He was then drafted by the San Diego Padres in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He signed and was assigned to the Tri-City Dust Devils, where he spent all of his first professional season, batting .254 with 13 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. In 2017, he played for the Fort Wayne TinCaps where he posted a .234 batting average with six home runs, 35 RBIs and a .685 OPS.^[73]

Hudson Potts

Hudson James Potts (né Sanchez) (born October 28, 1998) is an American baseball shortstop in the San Diego Padres organization.^[74]

Potts was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft^[75] out of Carroll Senior High School. He had committed to play college baseball for the Texas A&M Aggies,^[76] but chose to sign with the Padres.

After signing, Potts spent 2016 with both the AZL Padres and the Tri-City Dust Devils, posting a combined .280 batting average with one home run and 27 RBIs in 59 games between both teams. He spent 2017 with the Fort Wayne TinCaps where he batted .253 with 20 home runs, 69 RBIs, and a .731 OPS in 125 games.^[77] He began 2018 with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He ended the season with the season with the San Antonio Missions. He batted .154 in 22 games.
