List of twin towns and sister cities in Denmark

This is a short list of some towns and places in Denmark having standing links to local communities in other countries. In most cases, the association, especially when formalised by local government, is known as "town twinning" (though other terms, such as "partner towns" or "sister cities" are sometimes used instead), and while most of the places included are towns, the list also comprises villages, cities, districts, counties, etc. with similar links.

Aalborg

Aalborg is the fourth largest city in Denmark by population. It is twinned with these cities:

Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark by population. It has been twinned with sister cities around the world since 1946 and the sister cities now comprise these places:[3]

Esbjerg is the fifth largest city in Denmark by population and a seaport town on the North Sea coast. It is twinned with these towns:

Gladsaxe is a town and area in suburban Copenhagen. It is twinned with these places:

Holstebro

Holstebro is a founding member of the Douzelage, a town twinning association of 23 towns across the European Union. This active town twinning began in 1991 and there are regular events, such as a produce market from each of the other countries and festivals.[10][11]
