Kazipur (Bengali: কাজীপুর) is an Upazila of Sirajgonj District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

Geography

Kazipur is located at 24°38′30″N 89°39′00″E / 24.6417°N 89.6500°E / 24.6417; 89.6500. It has 462,011 households. The total area of the upazila is 368.63 km2 (142 sq mi).[1] The main river is the Jamuna, which branches and rejoins several times. The Ichamati crosses the western edge of the upazila.

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Kazipur has a population of 244,804. 50.39% male and 49.61% female. The adult population is 120,257. Kazipur has an average literacy rate of 30.5% (7+ years), against the national average of 42.4% literate.[2]

Kazipur has 12 Unions, 1169 Mauzas/Mahallas and 189,752 villages.

Chalitadanga Unions

Chalitadanga Has a 14 Village. Hatshira is a importance village of Chalitadanga Union.হাইদার মেমবার একজন 7 নং ওয়ার্ডের মেমবার এবং হাটশিরা গ্রামের নাগরিক। সাবেক মেমবার দুইজন মোঃ আমজাদ হোসেন ও আবু বক্কর প্রাং হাটশিরা গ্রামের নাগরিক। এছাড়া সাবেক মেমবার মোঃ আবুল কালাম আাজাদ হাজরাহাটি গ্রামের নাগরিক। চালিতাডাঙ্গা ইউনিয়নের 7 নং ওয়াডের চারটি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় এবং একটা হাই স্কুল আছে। এছাড়াও হাটশিরা গ্রামের একটি খেলার মাঠসহ আরো প্রায় সাতটি মজজিদ রয়েছে। হাটশিরা গ্রামের খেলার মাঠটা কাজিপুরের ভিতরের সর্বচেষ্টমাঠ যা হাটশিরা গ্রামের ভিতরে অবস্থিত।
