H'Hen Niê

H'Hen Niê (born 15 May 1992) is a Vietnamese model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe Vietnam 2017. She will represent Vietnam at the Miss Universe 2018.^[1]

Career

H'Hen Niê began her career as a contestant on cycle six of Vietnam's Next Top Model in 2015. She placed ninth in the competition. In January 2018, she was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, additionally being awarded Miss Beach Beauty. She is the first Vietnamese woman from ethnic minority group to win Miss Universe Vietnam, coming from the Rade ethnic group. She will compete at Miss Universe 2018.^[1]

H'Hen Nie was born in 1992 in Dak Lak, Vietnam, she studied finance major of Foreign Communication College. After 2 years, she began modeling and realized that she likes modeling. Besides, she also loves travelling, as well as motor. At the end of 2014, she was discovered by fashion designer Do Manh Cuong - this is the beginning of her modeling career. Engaging with the fashion world and wearing the most beautiful gowns and doing catwalk, she becomes more interested and decided to pursue it.

She made lots of impression during Vietnam's Next Top Model 2015 and made to Top 9. Until Miss Universe 2017 in Nha Trang, she won top prize among other 44 contestants. She will compete in Miss Universe 2018.

After the pageant, she still remains her old lifestyle despite having a big breakthrough in her career, as she has been invited to more events. Thank to her title, she is finally able to travel the world and make her dreams come true. Besides, she also puts lots of effort for charity works across Vietnam, such as Room To Read program where she inspired female students to go to school, house building projects for people living under unfortunate conditions,...and so on which targeting at vulnerable children, women and people infected with HIV.

As being Vietnam's representative at Miss Universe 2018, she shared that she is quite confident for this new role. She said: "I have no worry at all, even feel excited to join the competition. There're strong contestants every year so worrying is useless. Instead of worrying, I have a research about all of them, to figure out their strong features so I can prepare better which is the best strategy".

Apparently, there're many controversies regarding her pixie short hair, in which she is still confident regardless anything. She shared: "A hair doesn't determine one's femininity, the most important is your attitude, expression and communication which will have a big impact on everyone".

To compete in such a big beauty pageant like Miss Universe 2018, she's putting lots of effort for the upcoming competition. Recently, she has worn a brace in order to achieve better smile. Her journey will be shared to everyone and the press.
