Chili is an unincorporated community in Richland Township, Miami County, in the U.S. state of Indiana.[2]

History

Chili, originally called New Market, was surveyed in 1839.[3] In 1886, the Peru and Detroit Railway was extended to Chili.[4]

A post office was established at Chili in 1843, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1961.[5]

Geography

Chili is located at 40°51′36″N 86°01′35″W / 40.86000°N 86.02639°W / 40.86000; -86.02639, situated on the north bank of the Eel River.
