The American School of Dubai (ASD, Arabic: المدرسة الأمريكية بدبي), previously known as the Jumeirah American School (JAS), is located in the Al-Barsha community of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[1]

The school was reviewed by the Good Schools Guide International as "One of the best thought-of and long established schools in Dubai".[2] It is also rated by UAE based schools review web site, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com as one of the Best Schools in Dubai.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) rated the school as "Good" for the academic years 2008 through to the latest 2015/16 report.[3] While this is two notches down from an Outstanding rating, American School of Dubai scores Outstanding or Very Good on progress and attainment on core academic (progress, attainment across Maths, English and Science), as well on key management criteria. However it is held back by its rating for Islamic Studies and Arabic as a first or additional language, two criteria that carry significant weight in Dubai school reviews.[4]

Guest speakers who have visited the school include U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, North Carolina Senator and 2004 Democratic Nominee for Vice-President John Edwards, anthropologist Jane Goodall, singer Pearl Bailey in 1979, the Harlem Globetrotters, United States President Donald Trump, and former New York Yankees manager Joe Torre.
