The 2018–19 season is Chelsea's 105th competitive season, 30th consecutive season in the top flight of English football, 27th consecutive season in the Premier League, and 113th year in existence as a football club.[1] The season covers the period from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019.

Month by month review

April

3 April 2018: Matej Delač has joined Horsens on a free transfer and signed a two-year deal.[2]

June

14 June 2018: Mitchell Beeney has joined Sligo Rovers on a free transfer.[3]

16 June 2018: Harvey St Clair has joined Venezia on a free transfer and signed a three-year deal.[4]

19 June 2018: Ruben Sammut has signed a new contract until 2019 and joined Falkirk on a season-long loan.[5]

25 June 2018: Trevoh Chalobah has joined Ipswich Town on a season-long loan.[6]

26 June 2018: Nathan Baxter has joined Yeovil Town on a season-long loan.[7]

27 June 2018: Reece James has signed a new four-year contract and joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.[8] Dujon Sterling has joined Coventry City on a season-long loan.[9]

30 June 2018: Lewis Baker has joined Leeds United on a season-long loan.[10]

July

1 July 2018: Chelsea have signed Thierno Ballo (Viktoria Köln), George Nunn (Crewe Alexandra), Pierre Ekwah (Nantes), Ian Maatsen (PSV Eindhoven) and Sam McClelland (Coleraine) in a permanent deal.[11] Matej Delač, Wallace, Mitchell Beeney, Harvey St Clair, Isaac Christie-Davies, Cole Dasilva, Jordan Houghton and Tushaun Walters have left Chelsea after the end of the contract.[12]

2 July 2018: Isaac Christie-Davies has joined Liverpool on a free transfer. Jake Clarke-Salter has joined Vitesse on a season-long loan.[13]

4 July 2018: A number of youngsters have signed new professional contracts at the club. Daishawn Redan, Billy Gilmour, Nicolas Tie and Karlo Ziger have committed themselves until the end of 2020/21, while Clinton Mola’s new deal runs until the summer of 2020. Renedi Masampu has agreed to renew his short-term deal.[11]

5 July 2018: Danilo Pantić has signed a new contract until 2021 and joined Partizan on a season-long loan.[14]

6 July 2018: Jonathan Panzo has joined Monaco in a permanent deal.[15] Jordan Houghton has joined Milton Keynes Dons on a free transfer and signed a two-year deal.[16] Eduardo has signed a new contract, with the option of extending his deal with us until the summer of 2020 and joined Vitesse on a season-long loan.[17]

12 July 2018: Kenedy has joined Newcastle United on a season-long loan.[18] Joao Rodríguez has joined Tenerife on a season-long loan.[19]

13 July 2018: Antonio Conte has been sacked by Chelsea after months of speculation over his future.[20]

14 July 2018: Chelsea have appointed former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as their new head coach on a three-year deal.[21] Chelsea have signed Jorginho from Napoli on a five-year deal.[22] Kyle Scott has joined Telstar on a season-long loan.[23]

16 July 2018: Jamal Blackman has joined Leeds United on a season-long loan.[24]

17 July 2018: Todd Kane has joined Hull City on a season-long loan.[25] Mason Mount has joined Derby County on a season-long loan.[26]

20 July 2018: Marcel Lavinier has signed his first professional contract at the club until 2020.[27]

21 July 2018: Jérémie Boga has joined Sassuolo in a permanent deal.[28] Charlie Colkett has joined Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan.[29]

24 July 2018: Nathan has joined Atlético Mineiro on a season-long loan.[30]

25 July 2018: Mario Pašalić has joined Atalanta on a season-long loan.[30]

26 July 2018: Chelsea have signed Robert Green from Huddersfield Town on a one-year deal.[31] Jacob Maddox has joined Cheltenham Town on a season-long loan.[32]

30 July 2018: Kasey Palmer has joined Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan.[34]

3 August 2018: Pedro has signed new one-year deal extending contract until 2020.[35]

6 August 2018: Matt Miazga has signed a new contract until 2022 and joined Nantes on a season-long loan.[36] Fikayo Tomori has signed a contract extension until 2021 and joined Derby County on a season-long loan.[37]

7 August 2018: Cole Dasilva has joined Brentford on a free transfer and signed a two-year deal.[38]

8 August 2018: Chelsea have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao on a seven-year deal.[39]
