The 2013 Cape Verdean Football Championship final was the final of the 2013 Cape Verdean Football Championships, the 33rd Cape Verdean Football Championship, and 26th with the knockout stage.[1]

In Cape Verde, the finals were televised live on TCV and listened on radio on RCV.

The final was played between CS Mindelense of São Vicente and Académica do Porto Novo from Santo Antão. The winners did not compete into the Cape Verdean Super Cup and the 2014 CAF Champions League in the following season, primarily due to its schedule, a part of it, the regional championship and cup competitions within it.

The 2013 football championship final was Mindelense's was their eleventh appearance in their 93-year history and Académica Porto Novo's first ever appearance in their 29-year history.

Background

At group stage, Mindelense was participant of Group A and Académica do Porto Novo was participant of Group B, they qualified into the semis and placed in different parts, the two advanced to the finals.

CS Mindelense had reached the national championship final 11 times, 10 with the playoff stage winning eight of them. The last time they won a champion title was last season in 2011. Académica Porto Novo never played a championship final match and was the first and only participant from Santo Antão and its South Zone.

CS Mindelense won their 8th national football championship title, the club shared the total number of titles with Sporting Clube da Praia as the most championship titles in the nation for a year until Mindelense superseded Sporting Praia with a title in 2014 and later with three more in the summer of 2016.

As champion, Mindelense achieved their only entry into the first national super cup as champion that took place in the following year on April 30, they challenged against Sporting Clube da Praia, not as the national cup winner.
