Chanakhchi (Azerbaijani: Çanaqçı) or Avetarnots (Armenian: Ավետարանոց), is a village in the Nagorno-Karabakh. Since the Nagorno-Karabakh war the town has been administered by the de facto Republic of Artsakh as part of Askeran Province.[1] De jure is a village in the Khojali Rayon of Azerbaijan.
The village is the birthplace of Armenian prince and lieutenant general of the Russian Empire Valerian Madatov.
