Etymology

“molecular; numerator”
Wasei kango (和製漢語), orthographically borrowed from Japanese 分子 (ぶんし) (bunshi, molecule, numerator), which was in turn a semantic readaptation of Chinese 分子 (fēnzǐ, “element”).
