ประชามติ

From Sanskrit प्रजा (prajā, “mankind; people”) + मति (mati, “determination; resolution; view”); literally "people's resolution". Cognate with Khmer ប្រជាមតិ (prɑɑciəmteʾ).

ประชามติ • (bprà-chaa-má-dtì)

1. (law) plebiscite; referendum.
   • 1949, รัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย (พุทธศักราช ๒๔๙๒):

     มาตรา ๑๗๖ บุคคลผู้มีสิทธิเลือกตั้งสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนย่อมมีสิทธิออกเสียงประชามติ หลักเกณฑ์และวิธีการออกเสียงประชามติให้เป็นไปตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยการนั้น

     Section 176 A person who has the right to vote in an election of members of the House of Representatives shall enjoy the right to vote in referendums. The rules and procedure for the conduct of referendums shall be as set forth in the laws concerned.

     The Kremlin engineered a rump referendum for secession in Crimea that was largely boycotted by the non-Russian-speaking citizens. The UN General Assembly condemned the referendum in late March by an overwhelming margin.

     มาตรา ๓ ให้ยกเลิกความในวรรคสามของมาตรา ๓๙/๑ ของรัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย (ฉบับชั่วคราว) พุทธศักราช ๒๕๕๗...และให้ใช้ความต่อไปนี้แทน "เมื่อคณะกรรมการร่างรัฐธรรมนูญจัดทำร่างรัฐธรรมนูญเสร็จแล้ว ให้แจ้งคณะรัฐมนตรีและสภานิติบัญญัติแห่งชาติทราบ และให้คณะรัฐมนตรีแจ้งคณะกรรมการการเลือกตั้งทราบโดยเร็ว เพื่อดำเนินการจัดให้มีการออกเสียงประชามติตามมาตรานี้

     Section 3 The provision of paragraph 3 of section 39/1 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (Interim), 2557 Buddhist Era,...shall be repealed and replaced by the following: "Upon completion of the constitution drafting, the Constituent Commission shall inform the Council of Ministers and the National Legislative Assembly thereof. And the Council of Ministers shall forthwith forward the information to the Election Commission, who shall then make arrangements for the conduct of a referendum in pursuance of the present section.
