Coloma (Californië)

Coloma (vroeger Colluma en Culloma) is een plaats aan de American River in El Dorado County in de Amerikaanse staat Californië. Coloma bevindt zich zo'n 58 km ten noordoosten van Sacramento. Het is in Coloma dat James W. Marshall op 24 januari 1848 goud vond in Sutter's Mill, een gebeurtenis die aanleiding gaf tot de Californische goldrush. Het historische Coloma is tegenwoordig een spookstadje. Het dorp, dat sinds 1961 erkend is als National Historic Landmark District, vormt het hart van het Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park.

Volgens de volkstelling van 2010 wonen er 529 mensen in de census-designated place. De meeste inwoners leven van het toerisme dat de historisch bezienswaardigheden genereren.
