Sanphebagar Airport

Sanphebagar Airport (IATA: FEB, ICAO: VNSR) is an airport in Sanphebagar in Achham District in Sudurpashchim Pradesh in Western Nepal. In February 2002, the terminal building was destroyed in a Maoist attack. It was restored and upgraded and reopened for operations in 2018.[5][6]

History

In 1967, the Airport was first constructed only having a Grass/Clay runway. It came into operation in 1975. However, flights have been halted after a Maoist attack, which destroys the airport's Control tower in 2001.[7] The airport reopened in 2018.[6]

Facilities

The airport resides at an elevation of 250 feet (76 m) above mean sea level. Since the renovation of the airport in 2018, the airport has one asphalt runway which is 530 metres (1,739 ft) in length.[4]
