People's Police of the People's Republic of China

In China, the People's Police of the People's Republic of China is the term encompassing the whole police system of the People's Republic of China, with the exception of the People's Armed Police.[1]:120

According to the 1995 Chinese Police Law, the People's Police comprises four components:[1][2]

  • Public security organs;
  • State security organs;
  • Prison police;
  • Judicial police working in People's Courts and People's Prosecutorates.
