Kastelruth

Kastelruth (German pronunciation: [ˌkastəlˈruˑt]; Italian: Castelrotto [kaˌstɛlˈrotto]; Ladin: Ciastel) is a comune (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of the city of Bolzano.

Geography

As of 30 November 2010, it had a population of 6,456 and an area of 117.8 square kilometres (45.5 sq mi).[3]

Kastelruth borders the following municipalities: Barbian, Campitello di Fassa, Völs am Schlern, Lajen, Urtijëi, Waidbruck, Ritten, Santa Cristina Gherdëina and Tiers.
