History
KNTE began its life as a country music station named "'US 102'" in 1996, with the call letters KXGJ. Liberman Broadcasting purchased the station, increased its power to 35 kilowatts, and began targeting SW Houston and Fort Bend County. On July 11, 2014 KNTE changed their format from Spanish tropical (as "Baila 101.7") to regional Mexican, branded as "La Ranchera 101.7".[2]
