Districts of Lebanon
The 8 governorates of Lebanon are subdivided into 24 districts (Aqdya, singular – qadaa) as Dr. Salah Isam Abou Chacra (PhD in Geography, Beirut Arab University) recounts. The Beirut Governorate and Akkar Governorate are not subdivided into districts, (centres, "مراكز" of the governorates and districts are in parentheses.)
