Cairo International Bank (CIB) is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the financial institutions licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the central bank and national banking regulator.[2]

The headquarters of the bank, and its main branch are located in Greenland Towers, at 30 Kampala Road, in the central business district of Kampala, Uganda's capital city.[3] The geographical coordinates of the bank's headquarters are:0°18'48.0"N, 32°34'48.0"E (Latitude:0.313333; Longitude:32.580000).[4]

Overview

Cairo International Bank Limited (CIB) is a financial service provider licensed by the central Bank of Uganda, focusing on serving small and medium businesses (SMEs), educational institutions, non-governmental organisations and corporate entities. As of December 2019 the total assets of CIB were valued at USh189 billion (US$50 million) with shareholders' equity of USh52.3 billion (US$13.9 million).[1] Cairo International Bank Limited (CIB) was incorporated in Uganda in 1995. It began operations in 1995, after receiving a commercial banking license from the Bank of Uganda.[5]

Ownership

Cairo International Bank is a joint venture between several Egyptian banks and businesses, including: Banque Du Caire, Bank Misr and National Bank of Egypt.[6]

Cairo International Bank has its headquarters in Greenland Towers at 30 Kampala Road, Kampala, Uganda's capital city. As of May 2018, the bank maintained the following branches:[7]

CIB is governed by a seven-person board of directors. Justice Lameck Mukasa serves as the Chairman. Mourad Mahmoud Eissa is the Acting Managing Director.[8]
