On 10th March 2020, Marcin Animucki, the chairman of Ekstraklasa S.A., announced that due to appearance of a coronavirus pandemic in Poland, all Ekstraklasa matches will be played with closed stands until further notice.[38] On 13th March 2020 Ekstraklasa S.A. announced that all Ekstraklasa matches scheduled to be played in March 2020 have been postponed.[39] On 20th March 2020 they decided to cancel all Ekstraklasa games scheduled to 26th April 2020.[40]
