Xerophaeus is a genus of spiders in the Gnaphosidae family. It was first described in 1907 by Purcell. As of 2017, it contains 42 species; most in South Africa, all in Africa, except for X. coruscus found in Ethiopia, East Africa, and Yemen.[1]
