Thornton is a locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, Queensland, Australia.[1]
Geography
Laidley Creek passes through the locality from south to north.[2]
History
Thornton Provisional School opened on 11 October 1881 by its first principal W.J. Mitchell.[3] It became Thornton State School on 1 April 1890.[4]
Education
Thornton State School is a government co-educational primary school (P-6) at 4 Thornton School Road. In 2016, the school had an enrolment of 22 students with 3 teachers (2 full-time equivalent) and 5 non-teaching staff (2 full-time equivalent).[5]
