Syria at the AFC Asian Cup

Syria national football team is one of Asia's stronger teams, and has been a major participant in the AFC Asian Cup with five times appearances in the tournament, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1996 and 2011. Syria will make their six appearance in the 2019 edition.

Having been a participant there, but Syria's best result is just the group stage in all five editions, and Syria is believed to have no fortune in the big stage. In 2019 edition, however, Syria has their chance to change their luck, and to go into the knockout stage for the first time.
