Swami Mukundananda (born December 19, 1960) is a teacher of yoga, meditation and spirituality and the founder of Jagadguru Kripaluji Yog (JKYog), a nonprofit organization based out of Dallas, Texas.[1]

Early life

As a child, Mukundananda spent long hours in meditation and contemplation.[2] He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi with a degree in engineering[3][4] and received a graduate degree from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.[5][6]

He left a career in business[7] to join the order of Sannyas,[8] dedicating his time to devotional pursuits.[2] Under the guidance of guru Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj,[2] Mukundananda studied the Vedic scriptures,[9] Indian and Western philosophy, and Bhakti Yog. Maharaj exhorted Mukundananda to disseminate Vedic teachings around the globe.[2]

Teachings and philosophy

Mukundananda formulated Jagadguru Kripaluji Yog (JKYog), a system of yoga that incorporates elements of both Hatha yoga and Bhakti yoga,[1][10] and founded a nonprofit organization of the same name to promote the practice throughout the United States and India.[1][11][12] JKYog is headquartered at the Radha Krishna Temple in Allen, Texas.[13][14]

He delivers lectures at Fortune 500 companies and major universities throughout the world.[8][15][16][17][18][19][20]
