Strindberg is a 189 km diameter impact basin in the Shakespeare quadrangle of Mercury, which is named after this crater. It is located at 53.41°N, 136.67°W and is named after the Swedish playwright, novelist and short story writer August Strindberg. Its name was adopted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1979.[1]
North is the smaller Kōshō, southwest is the larger Shakespeare crater and further west is the smaller Janáček crater. Strindberg is inbetween Suisei Planitia to the northwest and Sobkou Planitia to the southeast.
