Eponym Heinrich Heine

Heine is a crater on Mercury. It has a diameter of 73 kilometers.[1] Its name was adopted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1979. Heine is named for the German poet Heinrich Heine, who lived from 1797 to 1856.[2] Nearly to the north is the Degas-Brontë crater pair with Degas with its ray system.

With Degas' ray system protruding in the southwest and northeast rims, the crater was impacted before Degas was impacted.
