Sidharth Nath Singh is an Indian politician and the Health Minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He is one of the official spokespersons of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a grandson of former Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri.[1] He is BJP state in-charge of Andhra Pradesh and co-in-charge of West Bengal. He is also serving as a Bharatiya Janata Party National Secretary.[2][3][4][5][6]

Singh became Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Allahabad West constituency in Allahabad district by defeating two-time BSP MLA Pooja Pal by 45,000 votes.[7][8]

Political career

He is currently a cabinet minister in the UP government, with the portfolio of Health.

During his term as Health Minister of UP, a scandal over deaths at BRD Medical College and Hospital broke out. He reacted to the incident by saying that such deaths are common in August[9].
