The Red Line is an under-construction bus rapid transit line that will serve parts of central and northern Indianapolis. The first phase of the transit route will link Broad Ripple to the University of Indianapolis via Downtown Indianapolis.[1]

History

On May 31, 2018, the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IndyGo) began construction of the Red Line. Construction of the first phase of the bus rapid transit line is to finish in 2019. Later phases, if approved, are for the transit route to extend farther north to suburban Carmel and Westfield, and farther south to Greenwood.
