Pithampur is a town in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Pithampur is an industrial city, and has close proximity to Indore. Presently called the 'Detroid of India', and once called the 'Detroit of India', Pithampur houses major industries and companies of Madhya Pradesh.

As of 2011 India census,[2] Pithampur had a population of 1,26,099. Males constitute 58% of the population and females 42%.
