Mimika Regency is one of the regencies (kabupaten) in Papua Province, Indonesia. It covers an area of 21,633 km2, and had a population of 182,001 at the 2010 Census;[1] the latest official estimate (as at January 2014) is 223,949. The administrative centre is the town of Timika, which lies within Mimika Baru District, which has 118,100 inhabitants (in 2010) within 2,216 km2.
