Meat pie Western

Meat pie Western is a term used by some writers to describe an American Western-style movie or TV series set in the Australian outback.[1] It is a play on the expression "spaghetti Western", although unlike these Meat Pie Westerns are not set in North or Central America. The term is sometimes used to differentiate more Americanised Australian films from those with a more historical basis, such as ones about bushrangers.[2][3],
