History

Marina 106 was proposed in 2008 as a 425m tower. Groundbreaking occurred in 2009.[2] However, the foundation wasn't even completed before the 2009 Dubai debt standstill and ensuing property bust put the project on hold. During the period it was on hold, the project was redesigned, gaining 20m to become 445m. Construction restarted in 2013.[3]
