List of Ebola patients

Thousands of individuals have suffered from Ebola virus disease (EVD), with some individuals notable as index cases or for having been doctors who treated other patients before becoming ill.Ebola was discovered in 1976, with periodic outbreaks and cases noted since then.[1][1]

1976 U.K. Lab case

  • Geoffrey Platt, a laboratory technician at the former Microbiological Research Establishment in Porton Down, Wiltshire, contracted Ebola in an accidental needlestick injury from a contaminated needle while handling samples from Africa.[2][3][4]
