List of international cricket five-wicket hauls on Australian cricket grounds

Australia is the joint oldest team in Test cricket history, having played in the first ever Test match in 1877.[1] The team also plays One Day International cricket and Twenty20 International, participating in both the first ODI, against England in the 1970–71 season[2] and the first Twenty20 International, against New Zealand in the 2004–05 season,[3]

There are many more world-famous cricket grounds in Australia. Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne has hosted the most Tests in the world, and also has the largest seating capacity of any cricket stadium in the world, being capable of holding more than 100,000 spectators, and has the tallest light towers of any sporting venue.[4]

In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five-for" or "fifer")[5][6] refers to a bowler taking five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement.[7] The following list is about the five-wicket hauls taken at Australian grounds.
