Lim Na-young (born December 18, 1995), also known as Im Nayoung, is a South Korean singer under Pledis Entertainment. After finishing tenth place in survival show Produce 101, she became a member of the girl group I.O.I. She is currently a member of girl group Pristin and its subgroup, Pristin V.

Early life

Nayoung was born December 18, 1995 in Gwanak District, Seoul.[1] She attended the Muhak Girls' High School and later the Dongduk Women's University (Department of Broadcasting).

Career

2016: Produce 101 and debut with I.O.I

From January 22 to April 1, 2016, Nayoung participated in Mnet's survival television show, Produce 101, which consisted of 101 female trainees from different agencies in South Korea.[2] Five participants from Pledis Entertainment were eliminated and only Nayoung and Kyulkyung made it to the final line up of I.O.I. She ranked tenth with a total 138,726 votes.[3]

On May 4, I.O.I made their debut with the extended play, Chrysalis, and its lead single, "Dream Girls".[4]

2017–present: Disbandment of I.O.I and debut with Pristin

After the disbandment of I.O.I on January 29, Pledis Entertainment announced that Nayoung and Kyulkyung would debut as members of Pristin on March 21, 2017. On the same day, Pristin released their debut EP, Hi! Pristin, accompanied by the lead single, "Wee Woo".[5]

In 2018, Pledis Entertainment formed Pristin's subgroup, Pristin V, composed of members Kyulkyung, Nayoung, Roa, Eunwoo, and Rena. They debuted on May 28 with the single album, Like a V.[6]
