Heo Chan-mi (Hangul: 허찬미; born April 6, 1992) is a South Korean singer. She is known as contestant in Produce 101, a former member of the girl group F-ve Dolls and the coed group Coed School.

Early life

Chanmi went to Anyang School of Arts (Theater and Cinema), where she graduated on February 9, 2011.

Career

Early career and SM Trainee (2004–2009)

Chanmi started in her career in 2004 where she signed with S.M. Entertainment as a trainee. She trained for a long time until she didn't make the final cut to be part of Girls' Generation due to the fact she was the youngest and was only in seventh grade.[1]

Coed School (2010–2012)

Chanmi signed with Core Contents Media where she was the main vocal of the group Coed School. She and Lee Soomi, Taewoon, Sungmin, Jungwoo, Hyoyoung, Hyewon, Kwanghaeng, Kangho, and Noori where all members of the group.[2] and released the songs "Too Late" and "Bbiribbom Bberibbom".[3]

F-ve Dolls (2011–2012)

By mid 2011 Coed School split and became sub units. Chanmi was placed in F-ve Dolls with the other three girls and one new one. She was the protagonist in the music video drama Lip Stains and Your Words who also featured Lee Soomi and Jay Park.[4] By 2013 Co-ed was no longer active and Chanmi remained in F-ve Dolls until 2012 and left to become her own solo artist. She left Core Contents Media along with Soomi the same year.[5]

Produce 101 (2015)

Chamni took part in Produce 101 as a contestant. She was placed in the "A" category and sang an English cover of the song "Don't Stop the Music" by Rihanna. In the tenth episode she was eliminated, leaving 26th place. She was part of the sub group for performance named "7 go up" with Jung Chae-yeon, Kim Da-ni, Park So-yeon, Choi Yoo-jung, Park Si-yeon, and Jeon So-mi to create the song "Yum Yum (얌얌)".[6]

Solo activities (2013–present)

Chanmi signed with Pledis Entertainment as a trainee but later it was revealed that she was under Duble Kick Entertainment. On July 19, 2016 it was reported by her company that she will not be joining the survival show 'Finding Momoland' since this was a joint effort from Duble Kick and Mnet. The company had plans for her to be part of another group.[9]

In 2017, Chanmi joined Mix Nine as a trainee under Mostable Music. In Mix Nine, it revealed that she is preparing to debut under the Agency's upcoming girl group, High Color.[10] Chanmi was eliminated in the thirteenth episode with her final rank being 20th place. She was a part of the subgroup "Good Vibe (좋은 바이브)" and performed the song "After This Night (이 밤이 지니면)" produced by MC Mong.
